WHEEL-BUILDING
Irwin wheels are made in Taiwan and supervised directly by Irwin's own technical department.

Irwin builds high-performance wheelsets using the following process and procedures:
RIMS:
- For aluminum rims, utilizing light weight enhanced alloy for excellent strength and durability.
- Using new integrated monocoque manufacturing process to reduce the weight of the carbon fiber rims without
compromising strength. The inflation test and weight check for every rim ensure consistent quality.
PRECISION HUB:
- The concentricity of bearing bore on the hub shell are made by a 4-axle precision CNC machine to ensure good rolling balance when riding.
- Ceramic coating free hub increase hardness and life time.
- Using only high quality sealed bearing such as Ceramic hybrid bearing (Bearing: ABEC3, Si3N4 Ball: Grade 5) or EZO bearing.
SPOKES, NIPPLES AND BRAKE PADS:
- Each wheel uses stainless steel spokes, side pull with either F20/R24 or F24/R28 lacing to withstand all kinds of terrains.
- External nipples for easy maintenance.
- Using low braking temperature ceramic brake pad to prevent overheating carbon clincher braking surface and increase pressure.
HAND-BUILT:
- Precision hand-built by professional craftsmen with a maximum lateral tolerance of 0.3mm.
- The carbon rim nipple hole angle, thickness and strength are simulated and thoroughly tested to ensure consistent quality.
- 100% quality control by expert technicians.
